Welcome, Class of 2026

2026 seems like such a far away date, but it is the year this class will graduate from high school and it will be here before you know it!  I am thrilled to be teaching fifth grade again this year.  This will be my 21st year teaching fifth grade at Castille!  It is such an exciting year with Outdoor Science School, learning about the American Revolution, and how "matter" matters, as well as just learning to be a responsible and independent learner, and ready for middle school.  I truly believe we are all students, and we are all teachers, each and every day.  I look forward to all that my students will teach me this year.

I have enjoyed working with the professional staff and supportive parents here at Castille.  I have lived in Mission Viejo since 1995 and I have two grown children, Scott and Molly.  My husband and I enjoy trying new restaurants, visiting our local beaches, and catching a great movie as often as we can.  When you see us in the neighborhood, be sure to say hi!  I grew up in Long Beach, California, and graduated from Cal State Long Beach.  I continued on to begin my teaching career with Long Beach Unified School District. I returned to school a number of years ago to earn my Master's Degree in Education from Concordia University.

A helpful tool that you will find updated each week on this website is the What's Up? for fifth grade. This newsletter will be posted by 4:00 each Monday and will provide students and parents with information about upcoming events, along with current assignments with due dates in each of the core subjects.  It can be accessed 24/7, so there should be little confusion when it comes to homework.  I will email the newsletter each week to you as well.  We will have an amazing year of growth, learning and fun!
