Welcome to the School Counseling Office!

Hello Castille Families!  Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year. I hope you had a wonderful and restful summer. I'm looking forward to a great year with you. As your  school counselor, I'm here to work with ALL students and am here to assist you and your child in any way I can. This is my 7th year in school counseling and my 3rd year at Castille. As I have in the past, I'll be going into all classrooms and teaching Second Step lessons. These lessons occur monthly in K-5 classrooms. More information can be found on my main page. I'll also be delivering other guidance lesson topics as needed. I'll be running small intervention groups based on various topics, providing individual counseling and outside community resource referrals as needed.  I hope to bring parenting classes that are both relevant and helpful, during this school year. Please contact me with any questions you may have. Let's have a great year!

Meet Taylor Jackman- School Counseling Practicum Student

Hello Castille families!  I'm excited to be here this year. Currently I'm working on my education at Azuza Pacific University,  pursuing my Masters in Counseling. I have a passion for working with children and through my own experiences in school, I want to be able to provide guidance to all children and parents through whichever concerns may arise. I look forward to working with Kathie and meeting you soon!

About Second Step

The elementary years bring exciting new challenges and opportunities. It’s the prime time to nurture social and emotional awareness and skills for learning. The research-based Second Step program includes everything needed to make it easy for teachers to integrate social-emotional learning into their classrooms, which decreases problem behaviors and increases whole-school success by promoting self-regulation, safety, and support." Second Step will be taught monthly in K-5 classrooms.
